Workforce Education and Training (WET)
The intent of this component of MHSA is to transform public mental health workforce by expanding capacity to be an integrated service system that delivers recovery oriented, culturally competent, consumer and family member driven services through collaboration with community partners.
The plan includes funding for actions such as; mental health career pathway programs, training and technical assistance, financial incentive programs, residency and internship programs and of course, and workforce staffing support. Proposed plan actions were developed with input from the community stakeholder process. Stakeholders include consumers and family members, staff at all levels from county and entities contracting with the county, those who spoke to workforce diversity needs, educational, training and consultant entities, professional organizations, and other relevant community partners
